Aims and Scope

Journal vision:

  • Egyptian Journal of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants "EJMAP" is peer-reviewed journal. It aspires to publish high-quality original research articles, review articles and short communications that have not been published or considered for publication elsewhere, which focus on at least one of the topics of medicinal and aromatic plant sciences and dedicated to providing the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge on medicinal and aromatic plant sciences and related academic disciplines.

Aims:

  • The principal aim of the journal is to publish high-quality original works and to contribute effectively in serving the scientific community in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants sciences. So, papers submitted will be judged on the basis of scientific originality and contribution to the field, quality and subject matter. EJMAP covers research on production, postharvest, biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals of medicinal and aromatic plants. EJMAP publishes reviews, original research articles and short communications related to research. And publish two electronic issues per year (June and December). All content of Egyptian Journal of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants "EJMAP" are published under the open license CC BY-NC (Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 4.0 International) which grants immediate free access to the work and permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.

Journal scope:

  • Cultivation: climatic demands, crop rotation, tilling, fertilization, planting, irrigation, phytopathology, plant protection, mechanization, harvesting, organic cultivation, remote sensing, environmental stress
  • Post-harvest processing: drying, separating, cleaning, distillation, extraction, decontamination, storing, tailoring, packaging
  • Plant genetic resources, breeding research including conventional and biotechnological methods, variety testing, tissue culture
  • Economics: market survey, business studies, profitability, agricultural extension and rural development of medicinal and aromatic plants
  • Gene, genome, proteome and metabolome analysis: molecular screening technologies; analysis of gene function from nucleotide sequence to phenotype; understanding of gene networks; applications ranging from metabolic engineering to marker-assisted breeding.
  • Functional genomics, comparative genomics, bioinformatics and their applications in understanding and beneficial use of biodiversity, conservation, introgression, and rational design of improved genes for industrial plant improvement.
  • Transgenic technologies: production and analysis of transgenic crops; molecular farming; gene insertion, expression and silencing; field-testing and commercialization of modified plants for agricultural, health, industrial, and environmental benefits, improved foods, biofuels and biomaterials; safety and regulatory affairs.
  • Developmental, physiological and biochemical studies relevant to enhanced understanding of plant function, with potential for improvement of plant characteristics important to humans, including the adaptation of plants to new environments.
  • plant and plant related organisms, marine organisms, chemistry (including discussions of structure elucidation, synthesis and experimental biosynthesis of phytoconstituents as well as developments of methods in these areas), biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics, structure and bioactivities of phytochemicals, including '-omics', bioinformatics/computational biology approaches and human related biotransformation of natural specialized metabolites and chemical ecology.
